Everyone loves drag racing, watching two extremely fast and capable machines going head-to-head. The Wheels YouTube channel regularly uploads some fantastic drag race videos onto the website, and this latest is no exception. In this short video, we see a Dodge Charger Hellcat take on the challenge against a Ford Mustang EcoBoost, in an impressive drag race between two very impressive cars.

The Two Cars Prepare To Do Battle

Sadly, we don’t get any specifications on the two cars in the video, but we can see they are very impressive looking vehicles. The Charger Hellcat looks striking in silver, with black stripes running across it from the front right through to the back. The Mustang is in a simpler color scheme, but looks just as cool in its metallic red, which shines nicely under the floodlights. It is possible that the two cars have had some form of mods and tuning additions added to them, but the video sadly does not make any mention of these.

Warming Up The Tires

We see the two machines warm up their tires in the traditional manner before they get to the start line. In terms of the stock cars, the Hellcat should have plenty of power in hand. It should have at least 707 hp on offer, whereas the standard Mustang EcoBoost has 310 hp, for the 2022 model anyway. The Hellcat should have the advantage, but that is also before we take any modifications to the two into consideration. On paper, though, it is the Charger Hellcat that should easily take the win.

Preparation complete, the two cars lineup at the start of the 1/4-mile to see who will come out on top. As the lights go green, it is the Charger that gets the better launch, although the Mustang's launch wasn't too bad.

As we all probably expected, the Charger Hellcat easily won the race, achieving its 1/4-mile pass in a time of 10.53 seconds with a top speed of 130.37 mph. The Mustang EcoBoost meanwhile did it in 12.445 seconds, with a top speed of 116.28 mph. So, it was quite a bit slower than the Hellcat, showing the advantage all that extra power brings.
