Jay Leno is someone who needs no introduction. The former chat show legend has dedicated the last few years to focus on his incredible car collection, showing them off on his CNBC show Jay Leno’s Garage as well as his YouTube channel of the same name. The channel showcases the cars in more individual detail, and through the pandemic, Jay has continued to produce video content. The latest entry features the 2020 Lotus Evora GT, which Jay describes as one of the best handling cars in the world.

Lightweight Construction Makes The Evora Very Agile

This is the latest edition of the Evora.  Jay says there are plenty of cars with more horsepower, but none that handle as well.  A Toyota-sourced 3.5 liter V6 gets supercharged to pump out that 416 hp, in a car that weighs just over 3100 pounds. The 6-speed manual has Jay's appreciation. And despite being a mid-engine sports car, it sort of has a rear seat and storage under the rear hatch that at least technically could be called a trunk.

Round Taillights Hark Back To The Earliest Of Lotus Cars

Jay loves the round taillights, a trademark of early Lotus models and it is a feature he hopes will continue on Lotus cars into the future.  Starting the car up, you can hear a gorgeous sounding supercharged V6 roar as Jay revs the throttle. But on the road the sound is nice rather than obnoxious, so it will never annoy you.  As he heads out to drive, he describes the six-speed transmission as being smooth and easy and is amazed at the legroom on offer  Even the gas mileage is good, not dipping below 17 mpg when being driven hard.

Fancy Electric Modes Just Add To The Overall Lotus Experience

Lotus as a company is very small compared to its competitors and it’s a personal company as Jay describes it, which adds a nice touch to each car. Jay states that the more you drive this car the more you love it. It is truly is a driver's car.
