Don’t know who Nico Rosberg is? You really should! Rosberg is the 2016 Formula 1 World Champion, and you need to go and watch highlights from that season because it was truly epic! So epic that he retired just days after winning the title to leave the sport at the very top. Since then, he has forged an incredibly successful career on YouTube, making all sorts of videos, with cars unsurprisingly being his biggest focus. And having customized his own version, he is now taking the world's first drive of the Rimac C_Two Prototype supercar.

Taking The Rimac C_Two Prototype For A Spin

This is the most advanced prototype of the car, which is an evolution—and a big one—of the Rimac Concept One that also featured on Amazon’s The Grand Tour. So while this is not the Rimac that Rosberg has ordered and customized himself, it is as close to his as he can get right now. It is 90% of the production car, according to Rimac founder Mate Rimac. And we know Nico loves his electric cars and has even founded his own Extreme E team. Back to the Rimac though, and the powertrain itself is pretty close to the production one, giving around 75% to 80% performance in a straight line.

There are also various drive modes on the car such as sport, drift, and cruise. You can also change how much power comes from either of the motors at the front and rear. Mate shows you can have 90% of the power from the rear, and just 10% from the front! Rosberg then takes the car for a drive. He pushes the car, commenting on how it grips the road and corners so well, despite it not even being in track mode!

A Fast And Well Balanced Car

You can see Mate and Rosberg having the time of their lives as Rosberg puts the car through its paces. Mate says, “he trusts you” to Nico—well, he should, considering this guy beat Lewis Hamilton to a world title! There are also a lot of glass surfaces in the car, giving the canopy a very spacious and bright feeling.

Rosberg then takes test driver, Miroslav Zrncevic, for a trip as they talk about the stiffer dampers, stiffer suspension, and, of course, more power from track mode. The car will also reach its top speed faster, and accelerate faster, with the car yawing more into the corners as well. For the full video, check out the link above.
