It might seem hard to believe that the Ferrari LaFerrari debuted almost eight years ago, but time flies in the automotive world. Hopefully, LaFerrari owners feel like they've gotten to enjoy their cars over the interim—given that relativity says that time slows down the faster you go, those eight years should have felt like a millennium. Or at least, that should apply to one LaFerrari owner who recently posted a clip to Instagram showing the hybrid-electric supercar being pushed to—and past, in a way—its limits on the Autobahn.

Hold Your Breath

The clip should definitely come with a "Don't Try This At Home" warning, since it features a LaFerrari at top speed being driven by someone filming their own instrument cluster and steering with one hand. As Ferrari's flagship supercar until the debut of the SF90 Stradale last year, the LaFerrari pushed the boundaries of roadgoing automotive technology with a 6.3-liter V12 engine that works in concert with an electric motor to produce a peak of 950 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The futuristic, almost insectoid supercar also tips the scales at only 2,700 pounds and change with a sticker price over $1 million.

The LaFerrari also features magnetorheological dampers in the suspension and all the active aerodynamic goodies that allow a factory claimed top speed of 217 miles per hour. But this latest clip from Speedtimers shows that Ferrari may well have understated that stat just to keep the car more in line with the epic Enzo of the early-2000s. In fact, this LaFerrari is shown as it maxes out with a speed of 372 kilometers per hour displayed on its instrument cluster. A little bit of math shows that translates to 231 miles per hour—on a public road, with one hand, no problem.
