Fans of Manny Khoshbin's YouTube channel regularly salivate over the opulent auto enthusiast's extensive array of luxury cars. But he definitely possesses a soft spot for Bugatti supercars, including a Hermes Edition Chiron he uses for joyriding. But having owned the 2020 model for two years, Khoshbin realizes he hasn't used all the features that his expensive ride carries. That's when he decided to test out one amenity, the launch control, in a video released on Wednesday.

Torque Utilized For Maximum Acceleration

There's no reason for him not to test that feature, since it's located in the fastest car in his fleet. But then again, it's likely Khoshbin is so infatuated by the Chiron's power every time he takes it out for a spin that it distracts him from thinking about that launch control. “This car has so much torque and force behind it, it's not like anything else!” exclaimed Khoshbin once he hits the road.

After warming up the tires, Khoshbin decides to try out the launch control feature at the bottom of the steering wheel. He simply hits the button with the Bugatti at a standstill and then hangs on for dear life. The feature signals the supercar to utilize all that torque from a standing start to warp-like acceleration within milliseconds. “All right guys, here we go!” cautions Khoshbin.

Launch Control Starts With A Push Of A Button

Khoshbin pushes the button and looks petrified when the Chiron takes over. With a roar, the car's rapid acceleration pins Khoshbin further into his seat, and the vehicle is a speck on the road in seconds. He's gobsmacked over the experience after returning from that momentary oblivion, beaming over the results. “Unbelievable!” is all he could yell.

Technically, Khoshbin didn't need to worry about how his Bugatti would perform. The all-wheel drive boasts a W-16 engine that delivers 1,500 horsepower (a first for a production sports car) and nearly 1,200 lb-ft of torque. That's a lot for a supercar to play with, regardless of a launch control feature.

More Horsepower In The Future

Still, Khoshbin can't help but ponder what the next Bugatti generation will offer. “I have to assume there is going to be a lot more horsepower, and it's going to involve a lot of electric motors,” he mused. “The problem with the Bugatti is there's not enough roads and clearance to really drive the car.”

You can't have everything, Manny, despite your riches.
