For automotive personalities like Garrett Mitchell a.k.a. Cleetus McFarland, broken cars will always happen. After all, Cleetus being daring and adventurous makes these cars susceptible to damage. Nevertheless, he is always able to bring these cars back to life thanks to his resources and fixing skills.

Cleetus’ garage is home to an ultra-quick and powerful LS-swapped Chevrolet Blazer, which recently went back to racing action following a good repair. The Blazer did a massive wheelie during a recent race, and sustained damages as a result.

Rocky The 1,000-HP LS Chevrolet Blazer

Dubbed Rocky the Blazer, this Chevy joined Cleetus’ garage around a year ago. George Sicialiano – a.k.a. LS George and Cleetus purchased this black LS-swapped Blazer after their beloved Ruby the Chevrolet C6 Corvette broke down. Since then, the Blazer has undergone a significant transformation although most of it was mechanically related. Exterior mods were mostly stickers, however.

Since its acquisition, the Blazer has been a regular fixture in Cleetus’ races and with George behind the wheel most of the time. Cleetus has been upgrading the car, too. Just more than a month ago, he shoehorned a new blower engine, installed a new full roll cage, a new subframe, new motor plates, and more. Thanks to the upgrades, the Blazer is now making more than 1,000 hp of output and more than 800 lb-ft of peak torque.

Just Another Day On The Drag Strip

Cleetus (in his Mullet The El Camino) and his troop took part in the Rocky Mountain Race Week 2022 where the Blazer barreled off the racetrack due to a brake pedal failure. Nevertheless, the Blazer made a very impressive showing with its newly found power. After all, It scored a rapid eight-second pass on the quarter mile. After the event, the Blazer then went into hibernation for repairs before it takes part in the Street Car Takeover Indy.

Itching for a great start at the Street Car Takeover Indy, George lined up the Blazer on the strip. Possibly looking forward to replicating his eight-second pass at Race Week, George had great reaction time for the launch. Nevertheless, things went wrong and the Blazer went for a massive wheelie during the pass.

As the front end touched the ground with force, the bumper flew off and shattered into pieces as it hit the track. As per the initial assessment, the motor plate broke, George lost steering, and there is some other cosmetic damage around the vehicle. With that in mind, the Blazer should return to action following these repairs.
