Every so often, there is a car that completely redefines what it means to be fast. And when Ken Block and the guys at Hoonigan created the insane twin turbo AWD Ford Mustang called the Hoonicorn, they obliterated everyone's previous idea of what a car is truly capable of. Which is why they have started a special series where they pit the elusive Hoonicorn against the craziest builds the world has to offer. The most recent contender for Ken and the Hoonicorn, is none other than the worlds fastest Donk, Donkmaster's 1971 Chevrolet Impala.

Hoonicorn Vs. Donkmaster, Two Different Kinds Of Crazy

Unlike racing two incredible supercars effectively designed to compete against each other, these two cars couldn't be more different. The Hoonicorn was built to enable the epitome of precision and ultimate driving experience; while the Donkmaster's Impala was made to prove to the world that the flashy, over the top style that is a donk, can also be insanely fast.

In one corner, the Hoonicorn is a sub 3,000 pound very low 1965 Mustang with a twin turbo v8 making 1400-HP through a lightning fast sequential transmission and AWD. In the other, the 1971 Impala is a 5,000 pound high rising donk making 1500-HP from a big single turbo LS and FTI manual transmission. All things considered, the Hoonicorn is definitely shoe-in for the win, but in the world of drag racing, anything can happen.

Hoonicorn Wins By A Lot... Many Times...

In the first race between the two high horsepower rides, Donkmaster left early and made the most of a lead, but he couldn't hold off Ken in the Hoonicorn for long as he flew past him and won by a long shot. The second race was much of the same end result. They both left with a fairly even start, but the Hoonicorn took a commanding lead and kept it as Donkmaster fought for traction.

For the third run, they decided to try and make things a bit more even by having Ken start two car lengths back and giving Donkmaster the hit. However, the Hoonicorn still blasted into the lead, rolling through the gears of the sequential transmission faster than the blink of an eye while Donkmaster fought for traction with his massive 28 inch rims and street tires.

People are always chasing a insanely high horsepower figure, but as this race proves, horsepower is completely useless if you cant put that power to the road. Even though based solely on power to weight ratio the Hoonicorn still would have likely won, it would have been a whole lot closer if Donkmaster had better traction.
