World records being set at drag racing events is nothing new. It's part of the fun of attending an event and watching fast cars get put through their paces. One car that broke a record not too long ago was the AMS Performance Lamborghini Huracan. It set a world record for the fastest Lamborghini at the TX2K2 event, with a run of 7.409 seconds and topped out at just over 195 mph. Now, that same car has gone even faster and reset the world record at the 2021 Haltech Hail Mary Derby.

Huracan World Record Came On Its Final Pass

The Huracan was about to take part in the last pass of the event when it raised its own world record. The car was piloted by Jordan Martin, and it shouldn’t be a surprise to see the car smash the record. Prior to the event at TX2K21 its horsepower was rated at an astonishing 2,060.8 hp. The video highlights the crazy horsepower this car has as it rockets away from the line and down the quarter mile.

The Huracan's Top Speed Is Just Over 194 Mph

After launching down the line, it is mere seconds later that the car blitzes through that quarter mile. Real blink and you miss it stuff. The top speed is recorded at 194.52 mph but the most astonishing figure of all is that it has set a new world record. It completed the run in an astonishing 7.33 seconds. It is only around a tenth quicker than that of its previous record run, but that does not mean it is any less impressive. Video footage shows just how much that means to the AMS team to beat their own record and make it more difficult for anyone else to match it.

Onboard Footage Makes The Record Run Look Effortless

The onboard footage from the run almost makes it looks easy. It effortlessly shifts through the gears as it goes through the run before Martin deploys the braking parachute, with text appearing on the video stating that this Huracan is still the “world’s quickest Lamborghini.” No wonder the AMS guys were so happy. That is a truly commendable achievement, to be able to beat a time that perhaps to the AMS guys themselves looked unbeatable, with a highly impressive pass.
