The automotive industry at large probably focuses a bit too much on 0 to 60 mph and quarter-mile times. Still, watching a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon blast off the line or a Tesla take on a Lamborghini in a drag race is quite fun. But very few cars on the entire planet can hope to keep up with a wild Chevrolet Corvette build that Barcroft Cars featured on its YouTube channel with a ridiculous claim that it can sprint from a standstill to an absurd 200 miles per hour in only 3.5 seconds. And these aren't just claims, as the video features interviews with the car's father-and-son team, plus some clips of it launching so hard the filming almost can't keep up.

Turn Up The Sound

Apparently, this Corvette is owned by father and son duo Mike Decker Jr. and Mike Decker III, who have nicknamed the wild build the "Door-Slammer." The family members own a salvage yard in Baltimore, Maryland where they sourced this 2014 Corvette before undertaking the hardcore project.

Under The Hood

Under the hood, the supercharged 526ci Brad Anderson engine produces a claimed output of 3,800 horsepower. That figure sounds absolutely absurd, so it's worth noting that the Deckers have been racing for somewhere between 10 to 15 years, depending on whether early amateur races with street cars truly counts.

Ready For Blast Off

Now, the Corvette looks just as wild as the claims, with a massive blower popping way above the hood. The engine routes power through a torque converter to the rear wheels, which are shod in 315 drag radials. Unfortunately, much of the video from Barcroft Cars features a ton of music drowning out the sound of the engine — luckily, a few seconds of blasts through the side-exit exhaust are sure to get the goosebumps tingling.
