Porsche has recently begun dipping their toes into the all-electric car market with its elegant and smooth Taycan models.

The future of their already established models though is uncertain. In these changing times where a push for all-electric vehicles becomes ever more present, how will the gas-guzzling classics survive?

Well, YouTuber Sam from Seen Through Glass took a look at a very special Porsche 911. Watch as he gets his hands on an all-electric 911 conversion done by Everrati, which hopes to be a way of future-proofing our favorite classics.

The idea of a 911driving around silently is a strange thought. The sound of a naturally aspirated straight-six mounted right behind the driver is Porsche's signature move.

However, Everatti has taken this donor 964 and given it a makeover ready to stand the test of time, regardless of what purists might think, there's still some fun to be had behind the wheel of this thing.

So, what have they done to complete this Frankenstein resto-mod? Well, it starts with completely stripping down the donor car and build it from the chassis up.

This process involves rust-proofing all the corrosion spots, adding reinforcements, and even replacing all the panels with carbon fiber replicas. The team at Everatti are not EV nerds though, they are genuine car guys who have experience with the likes of McLaren and Jaguar.

To power it, the car has a brand-new 53Kwh battery pack with advanced battery management and temperature control, which puts down 500HP to the rear wheels - far more than the standard 964 could ever have hoped for!

Future-Proofing An Icon

The result of their work is a car that weighs the same as the combustion engine version as well as having a 60:40 weight distribution. All without the same maintenance upkeep as a standard 964 Porsche.

As well as this, they have upgraded the inside to give it a future-proof makeover. They haven't completely lost sense of what the car is though, and so they have elevated it in a way that it still feels like an old Porsche but with many modern comforts.

The gauge cluster now houses displays for battery temperature and range, and the infotainment system is the same as those found in the new Porsche models, which runs apple car play and has Bluetooth connectivity.

The seats and steering wheel have been retrimmed in leather and Alcantara, and the seats are also now heated. To get over the silent factor, they have fitted Sports Active Sound, the same system used in the likes of AMG's and BMW's to pump artificial sound into the cabin.

What Everatti have done here is essentially make a classic car that you can daily drive for years to come. It rides like an old car and feels like one, the only difference is that you have instant torque under your right foot.

The EV revolution is changing the car world. And companies like Evaratti are working on bringing the experience of the classic cars we've grown to love into the future. The only downside, for now, is the price. At £250,000 ($345,000) it's a long way away from being an option for most.

The important thing here though is that someone has made a start in the efforts to keep iconic cars on the road for the foreseeable future.
