In case you were living under a rock, you will know that Covid-19 has put a lot of major events on hold this year, and confined us all to a frankly miserable year. And if you were Ford and wanting to showcase your pretty awesome Mach-E 1400, you might find that some events you could take the car to have been canceled. One such event was Goodwood’s famous Festival of Speed in West Sussex, UK. To compensate for this loss, however, the track aired a livestream for SpeedWeek that was a combination of the best of the Festival of Speed, the Revival, and Members' Meetings events.

The Mach-E 1400

The Mach-E 1400 itself stems from Ford’s Mustang Cobra Jet that emerged earlier this year. That, like the Mach-E, was a 1,400bhp monster. But the Mach-E takes that power to a whole new level. It was built by Ford Performance and Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s own company, RTR Vehicles. Coincidentally, it was Gittin driving the car at Goodwood. It has a four-wheel-drive mode, and the power train is designed to use both front and rear-wheel drive layouts.

This means the car is optimized for all sorts of racing, be it circuit racing, drag racing, or even drifting. That last one comes in handy in the video. In the said video clip, Gittin is setting off for a lap at Goodwood’s race track before he loses it spectacularly at the first turn and drifts around the corners. Somehow, he keeps the car out of the barriers despite bouncing all over the grass!

Pushed To The Limit

The Mach-E was certainly put through its limits on that run, and perhaps the car will even work off-road! The car has undergone quite a few promotional outings this year, with NASCAR champion and 2020 title contender Joey Logano taking the car for a spin with Gittin. This is one of Ford’s most impressive machines of 2020, but let's hope it stays in one piece for the rest of the year.
