Ford's marketing blitz for the forthcoming full-sized Bronco remains in full effect now that spring has marked the beginning of off-roading season for much of the United States. Even though the Bronco faces delays probably related to the coronavirus pandemic, hype remains high, so much so that VIN # 001 recently fetched seven figures at a Barrett-Jackson auction (with all proceeds going towards the National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound). Broncos have been showing up at events like King of the Hammers and in Utah, where maniacal off-roading drifting driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. just drove a red Ford Bronco up to the very edge of a massive cliff at the top of a trail known as "Top of the World."

Climbing Up Close With Ford's Front-Facing Camera

Gittin Jr. posted the video to his Instagram account above after teasing an image earlier in his thread. In this clip, the relatively blurry images show how he used Ford's forward-facing camera, which gives drivers a better look at the terrain ahead, to inch towards the edge of the sheer dropoff.

Don't Look Down From The Bird's-Eye View

With plenty of onlookers on hand to witness the display of courage, Gittin Jr. slowly edged the Bronco's front tires right up to the brink of the precipice. Drone shots provided a bird's-eye view that even just watching might give vertigo-inclined fans some trouble.

Camera Use, But Still Looking Out The Window

Shots of the Bronco's trail camera reveal a forward-facing lens just staring out into the abyss—being able to move the camera's view downward, as is possible with some backup cameras for trucks that leave the factory equipped with trailer hitches, would probably have been useful in this case. Luckily, the computer-rendered view from above gives more of a sight line to the edge of the cliff. But Gittin Jr. still spent plenty of time poking his head out the window, regardless.

Top Of The World Trail In Utah

Top of the World Trail gets its name for the majestic panoramas of the desert in the Eastern half of Utah about 20 miles or so to the Northeast of Moab. The trail is open to the public but Gittin Jr.'s video should probably have included a disclaimer that viewers should definitely not try this on their own.
