This thing is called "Appaloosa" and it's been modified for land-speed racing and with a switch in tires it's been used for ice racing using tire studs. It has a faring, clip-ons, and an extended swingarm as well as a wide-open exhaust system. It has a fuel cell reduced to 2.5liters and is piloted by Randy Mamola of  World Superbike fame.

With a small shot of nitrous and some minor bolt-ons, power has been increased to 130 H.P. The vehicle is designed to compete in a special modified class called "Sultans Of Speed."

Start with what you can't see at this angle, it has copper pipe radiator to give it a period look. The bobber was built to commemorate the 150 anniversary of Jack Daniels distilling. It has simulated wood and a leather seat to give it a period look along with the skinny bicycle tires. The wrapped exhaust dumps straight out the side.

The bike would be a handful is driven beyond the exhibition circuit due to the small replica tires. If you look closely there is a LED tail lamp in the faux wood portion of the seat.

Custom bike builder Roland Sands really wanted a period look for this bike. He built an articulated leaf-spring fork that has hydraulic dampening but looks like it has the period corrected drag-tensioner to dampen bumps.

The tires and accents really make this look like a bike from the last part of the 1920s. The rear suspension has a rigid look to it with all of the dampening hidden. We like the open primary cover and the signature Indian finning really looks the part on this retro-ride. The handlebars have the right period look as well.

This is another flying mile/board track example built by Roland Sans. Look at that awesome custom frame and insane single-sided rigid rear wheel. He went with a tire size and rim style you would normally see on a 300 C.C. sportbike.

The custom tank and clip-ons really give this a high-speed look. The fins on the engine really stand out under the small tank and skinny frame. The look is terrific. The molded seat and dual right side exhaust look wonderful.

This motorcycle was modified with a period-correct Princess sidecar, and it was owned by Steve McQueen. This is a gorgeous bike and it's a flawless restoration. The bike was restored by Kenny "Von Dutch" Howard and it contains a 1200 C.C. engine.

It has the proper cable-driven speedometer. It has the period-correct hand-shift transmission and an ammeter mounted atop the tank. The sidecar has a downward cant to complete the period-correct stance.

Walzwek Racing built quite a ride. The secondary belt cover is machined from solid billet. The bike is lowered with short travel front and rear suspensions. The clip-ons and headlamp nacelle give the bike a tucked look befitting a drag racer.

The exhaust has a custom-built silencer, as is the fuel tank a bespoken piece. The rear fender completes the look of the drag race seat as a one-piece look. The builder jokingly states he built the fuel tank just big enough to hide the fuel pump.

Wunderkind is a custom cycle designed to look lower and faster than the production bike while maintaining a fat look.  Almost everything that is black painted is custom-made and the details are bountiful.

Start with the inverted mirrors, the fenders, the suspension struts, the seat, the swingarm, gas cap, and controls are all specialty pieces. The smoked headlamp actually matches the paint scheme. The turn signals and tail-lamp are hidden led units with the front turn signals cleverly hidden in the bar ends.

"Spirit Of Freedom" is all about making a sleek, clean look for a bike. Look at the upgraded sportbike brakes and wide wheels. The left side secondary belt cover is machined from solid stock.

The gauges have been removed and a drag bike style triple-tree and clip-on handlebar set-up was installed. Piggyback remote reservoir shocks have been installed as has a monoposto seat replaced the standard model. The muffler has a high shine from polished stainless steel which contrasts with the taped exhaust.

The spoked wheels look wicked with their blacked-out look. The hidden bar end mounted turn signals look wicked and clean up the bike. The smoked headlamp gives the bike a Mad Max look, and the low slung front and rear fenders look as if they aren't even there which was the intent.

The monoposto seat gives the bike a true bobber flavor. The choice of painting the rocker covers bright yellow is a little strange but it matches well with the fender striping. We also like the recoloring of the high/low trumpet exhaust pipes.

This bike is all about the paint and polish. Look at those spoke wheels. Everything is polished or chromed. Then you have those gangster whitewalls that give the bike a period flavor while still looking forward at the same time. You have a 1950s period style seat as well. This bike is mostly stock with a trick paint job, but we love it.
