Wayne Carini's Favorite Cars In His Collection

via Supercars

Although Wayne has loved numerous cars he’s worked on and owned himself, he became especially attached and interested in the two matching 1931 Stutz Bearcats. The Stutz Bearcat is an American sports car that came to prominence during the pre-WWI era.

The Bearcat was first powered by a 60-horsepower engine produced by the Wisconsin Motor Manufacturing Company, and was common among the sports cars of the time. It featured open bucket seats, a small windscreen in front of the driver, and a fuel tank on the rear deck. The original production began in 1912, and was reintroduced in 1931. The new Bearcat had an eight-cylinder engine, and each car was tested to be able to reach 100 miles per hour. It had a side-mounted spare tire, and had doors similar to that of the modern sports cars. The 1931 version lasted through 1933.

The 1931 versions that Wayne owned were not a costly purchase for Wayne - he bought two for $30 from a vendor in Georgia. Although he owned a 1960 MGA 1600 Coupe, a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo, and a 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560S, the two Bearcats were some of the favorites in his collection.
