“Sitcoms,” or situational comedies, became immensely popular in the 1990s. They were already popular earlier than the ‘90s, with shows like I Love Lucy from the ‘50s, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and All in the Family from the ‘70s, and perhaps the biggest of them all, M*A*S*H, from the ‘70s to early ‘80s. (The M*A*S*H series finale in 1983 had a viewership of 105.9 million, making it the most-watched TV episode of all time, and ninth of all time after the last eight Super Bowls.)

But in the ‘90s, producers seemed to realize that sitcoms were not just a fad or trendy—they were profitable and the shows that people wanted to watch most. So some of the biggest sitcoms ever came out in the 1990s, such as Seinfeld, Friends, Frasier, Home Improvement, That ‘70s Show, and more. And many of the actors that got their starts in those shows went on to have huge success outside of their little sitcoms, and are now worth (hundreds of) millions of dollars!

But it’s important not to forget where these actors and comedians started: on set for primetime television, with those annoying laugh tracks—keeping fans and viewers entertained, often for years at a time. Currently, we’re in a “Golden Age of Television,” where there are almost too many good things to watch, and many sitcoms from the ‘90s have seen a resurgence of popularity, with many of them even getting sequels (Fuller House, Will & Grace, etc.).

Let’s see what 25 of our favorite actors and actresses from ‘90s sitcoms are driving today.

25 Jennifer Aniston (Friends) – Bentley Continental GT

via Tapatalk

Jennifer Aniston was one of the main people on the incredibly popular sitcom, Friends. With top billing, Aniston played Rachel Green, the spoiled but warm-hearted and likable daughter of a rich vascular surgeon. She was arguably the main character, and the show made her a household name. It helped her amass plenty of film credits and a wealth of about $220 million (thanks to the $1-million per episode historical payday the Friends cast negotiated). Her cars include a Bentley Continental GT, a Range Rover Vogue, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and Audi A8.

24 Matthew Perry (Friends) – Porsche Panamera

via Celebs Place

Matthew Perry played Chandler Bing on Friends, an executive in statistical analysis for a large multi-national corporation, who later quits his job and becomes a copywriter at an ad agency. He was known for his sarcastic sense of humor, often mocking his best friend Joey for his stupidity. He eventually falls deeply in love with Monica, eventually marrying her (in season 7). Perry has a net worth of $80 million and was nominated for an Emmy for his role in Friends. He drives a four-door Porsche Panamera or a BMW 6 Series.

23 Courteney Cox (Friends) – Jaguar S-Type

via Zimbio

Speaking of Monica—the younger sister of Ross and best friend of Rachel, and eventual wife of Chandler—she was played by Courteney Cox. Cox had great success on the show and off, amassing a fortune of $120 million. She actually had her big break before being cast as Monica, when she appeared in Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 music video, “Dancing in the Dark,” which is when her acting career took off. She is a bit of a car buff and owns a Jaguar S-Type, Porsche 911, Lexus ISC, BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.

22 Matt LeBlanc (Friends) – Porsche 911 GT2 RS

via Top Gear

Matt LeBlanc might have the most successful acting career of any of his co-stars from Friends, seeing as he not only starred in that show, but then in a spin-off featuring his character Joey. He’s also starred as a fictionalized version of himself in Episodes, and then as the new co-host of the UK’s incredibly popular car show, Top Gear. On Top Gear, he even tried to bring former co-stars David Schwimmer and Courteney Cox on the show. He has a net worth of $80 million and drives an incredibly fast Porsche 911 GT2 RS, a Porsche 911 R (pictured), Ferrari 360 Modena, and Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG.

21 Lisa Kudrow (Friends) – Jaguar F-Type

via Zimbio

Lisa Kudrow played Phoebe Buffay on Friends, and she also played Ursula Buffay in Mad About You (the two worlds of the shows are connected). In fact, since they were both NBC sitcoms, the shows worked in that Ursula and Phoebe were twins, occasionally appearing in each other’s storylines. Her quirky portrayal of Phoebe made her a fan favorite, for sure. Today, Kudrow is worth about $70 million. Her car collection includes a Jaguar F-Type, Porsche Cayman, Lexus RX, and a Toyota Prius; because she cares about the environment.

20 David Schwimmer (Friends) – Jaguar XK8

via JEM Motor Corp

Rounding out the end of the Friends portion of this list is David Schwimmer, who of course played Ross Geller, a character fans either loved or hated. Either way, the show couldn’t have been the same without him. Schwimmer has said that he struggled heavily with fame at a young age (he was 27 when cast), which made him a bit reclusive, but he’s since gotten more roles, in shows like Band of Brothers, Curb Your Enthusiasm, American Crime Story (portraying Robert Kardashian), and Feed the Beast. He is worth $85 million and drives a Jaguar XK8.

19 Ted Danson (Cheers) – Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Ted Danson played the main character on Cheers, Sam Malone, a former relief pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, and the owner and bartender of the bar, “Cheers.” He’s a recovering alcoholic and a notorious womanizer on the show, and he’s loved by his patrons for his short-lived fame. In real life, Danson is quite an accomplished actor, appearing in Three Men and a Baby, Becker, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Fargo, and The Good Place. 15 Mila Kunis (That ‘70s Show) – Jaguar XK

via EuroCarNews

Mila Kunis played Jackie Burkhart on That ‘70s Show, though she was only 14 when cast. Since 1999, she’s also voiced Meg Griffin on Family Guy. Her film roles include Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Max Payne, The Book of Eli, Friends with Benefits, Ted, and Oz the Great and Powerful. She has a net worth of $55 million and owns a Jaguar XK, Tesla Model S, Honda Civic Hatchback, Lexus SC430, and Range Rover Vogue.

Undoubtedly the most successful of the That ‘70s Show, alum, Ashton Kutcher’s first role was as the dumb-witted but lovable Michael Kelso, who was the love interest of Mila Kunis’ Jackie. Since then, he’s become a leading actor, starring in romantic comedies like Coming Soon, Guess Who, A Lot Like Love, What Happens in Vegas, No Strings Attached, and as Steve Jobs in Jobs. via Know Networth

Though Wilmer Valderrama might be lesser-known than his co-stars on That ‘70s Show, probably has the coolest car collection! The actor played Fez, a foreign exchange student and fan favorite. Valderrama fabricated his own accent for his character so that no one could identify which country his character was from—a mystery the show creators deliberately kept a secret. In real life, Valderrama is worth $18 million and owns a Lamborghini Murcielago, Aston Martin DB9, Tesla Model S, and Mercedes-Benz SLS-Class, as well as the 1969 Oldsmobile Vita Cruiser used in That ‘70s Show, that he bought for $500.

via Anderson Mobile Estates

Will Smith is possibly the most famous person on this list. But many people might forget he got his start as a rapper in the late 1980s, dubbed The Fresh Prince, before starring in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Since then, he’s acted in blockbusters and is the only actor to have eight consecutive films gross over $100 million at the domestic box office (and to his #1 at the box office), and 11 consecutive films grossing over $150 million internationally. He’s worth about $300 million and owns this astonishing “Mobile Mansion,” as well as a Maybach 57S, 1965 Ford Mustang, Mercedes-Benz GL450, Cadillac Escalade ESV, and Ford Taurus.

He’s actually quite a car enthusiast, too, even giving an interview to Motor Trend in 2016 about his favorite cars. He’s worth about $7 million. He learned to drive in a 1988 Chevy Camaro RS muscle car and currently drives either a 2011 Mercedes-Benz S550, BMW Z4, 2014 GMC Yukon XL Denali (when with family), or BMW 325IS.

via Bring a Trailer

She won a Primetime Emmy Award for playing Grace in 2003. She was one of the four recipients of a Porsche Boxster in 1999, along with Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally, after a “solid first season,” from the “NBC brass,” according to EW.com. Messing is worth around $20 million.

via Lamborghini Sarasota

Ray Romano is a stand-up comedian and actor best known for his titular role on Everybody Loves Raymond, a sitcom that aired from 1996 to 2005. He won an Emmy for his role.
