Vin Diesel is one of the most successful actors and producers in Hollywood. You can't stick your hand into a pile of used DVDs without pulling out one of his fifty films. So you would expect a guy like him to ride around in style, right?
Not only does Mr. Diesel ride in style, but he also parks it in style. Instead of relying on the studio to shelter his mug in a smelly old standard-issue double-wide lot trailer, he brings his own palatial palace on wheels. The thing is so impressive that it was featured on an episode of HGTV's Celebrity Motor Homes.
The stunning tractor-trailer rig cost the big man a whopping $1.1 million and features more than 1,000 square feet of living space. And, of course, the whole thing is protected by a state-of-the-art, 360-degree security monitoring system so don't try to sneak in and score an autograph. Here's a look inside.
15 Not Very Fast And Definitely Not Furious
When fully compacted, Vin Diesel's 1,100 square foot mini-mansion on wheels is no bigger than a normal semi-truck. You can see the entire top floor is windowed from front to back while the downstairs features less glass and is a bit more private. The cost of this Anderson Mobile Estates-built beast? $1.1 million.
14 Who Has A $1.1 Million Motorhome? This Guy
Unfamiliar with Vin Diesel? The guy is an action movie legend, having starred in all nine of the The Fast and the Furious blockbusters, the Riddick franchise, two XXX films and a handful of appearances as the voice of Groot in the Marvel Universe pictures. OK, we won't mention the very forgettable The Pacifier. Oops, we just did.
13 It's Just Getting Started
This is a wide shot of Diesel's giant mobile home from the entrance side. The color is a metallic gray-silver, kind of low-key for a superstar. Note the first slide is popped out but the roof has yet to be raised. It takes 8 pistons and 16,000 pounds of pressure to raise the roof on that sucker.
12 Crank Up The Fun, Mr. Diesel
Every million-dollar trailer needs an entertainment center like this racked and stacked second-story command and control station. Diesel made sure to stock his mini-house with plenty of tech goodies - namely $70,000 worth of top-shelf electronics, including 3-D flat screens, Blu-Ray players and a kick-ass sound system. Of course he did.
11 Vin's Motorhome Slide Show
What a difference slides make. RVs and mobile homes have long featured slides which practically double the wideness of a particular living space and Vin's mega-trailer is no exception. Here is a side view of the main pop-out which is right next to the entrance, which yields plenty of legroom as you will see in the next photo.
10 What A Great Place To Hang Out
Four couches and two coffee tables make this the centerpiece room of Vin's boss motorhome. With plenty of comfy cushioned butt parking and ample leg room, it is the perfect place to host co-stars, agents and other industry types. The wood floors and spot lighting give it a real homey vibe.
9 A Cozy Little Two-Person Table For Private Meals
Vin Diesel is a big fella, so it was a little surprising that this is his dedicated dining area. However, it looks like a lovely spot to have a cup of coffee and an omelet in the wee hours of the morning before heading out the door to kill some pretend bad guys.
8 Second-Story Play Area For Children
A huge portion of the upstairs is devoted to this massive carpeted play area for kids of all ages. Well, it's only big enough for adults to crawl through, so good luck with that game of indoor soccer. There's a safety net to the left which keeps the young ones from toppling down to the first floor.
7 He's Not Only A Movie Star, But Also A Producer
Besides handling his acting duties, Diesel also gets his hands dirty as a producer and executive producer. He helped bring both Fast & Furious Spy Racers and The Ropes series to television as an executive, while ably filling the more hands-on role of producer on several of the Fast and Riddick movies. He's also a director. Look it up.
6 Step Inside, Walk This Way
Just inside one of the doors of Vin's palatial wheeled estate is a small sitting area and a desk, perfect for meeting slightly less important people without letting them into the rest of the accommodations. You can see the curtain dividers on standby to drape off the rest of the rooms from prying eyes.
5 Kitchens Are Always Taken For Granite
OK, something about this rig had to be reasonable and, well, it's the kitchen. While it is a bit on the tiny side, it makes up for it with opulent granite countertops, two burners, a sink, a sub-zero refrigerator, and a convection microwave. This is where Groot heats up his Hot Pockets.
4 Eastbound And Down, Loaded Up And Truckin'
Diesel's mighty rig makes its way to almost every film set the actor sets foot on. In fact, the entire tractor-trailer was shipped over to Puerto Rico for use while Vin worked on one of the many, many installments of the Fast & Furious franchise there. The truck and trailer did not come with a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am.
3 The Chronicles Of Office Space
A busy actor, producer, and (gasp) director needs a little hideaway office, right? Of course. This is where Mr. Diesel gets down to business, endorsing giant checks and thinking up possible titles for the next Furious franchise movie. And just like every other office, this one features a four-foot-wide mirror.
2 Home Sweet Home
Here's another view of the main living space from the other direction. The leaf-themed carpet really adds a much needed splash of color in this very dark space. Notice the little controller pad on the table to the right - that little gadget enables Vin to manage most of the functions for the entire RV remotely.
1 On To The Next Movie Set
With such a busy shooting schedule, there is no doubt that Diesel's motorhome racks up the miles. And he is in good company. Anderson Mobile Estates has also built rolling two-story homes for Will Smith, pro golfer Steve Elkington and a host of corporate clients. They also rent these behemoths if you want to try before you buy.
