There are sports cars, then supercars; but when it comes to trucks, there isn’t a term to describe the fast, outrageously styled ones because, by their nature, trucks aren’t designed to fulfill those briefs.

On YouTube, we can see, thanks to Carmstyledesign, a video render of a truck concept called the Kenworth, which looks both outrageous and fast, while being able to carry a 40-ton cargo.

Let’s see what’s going on with this render, the good points, the bad points, and if anyone is likely to bring this vehicle into production anytime soon.

The Kenworth Concept Truck Is The Fastest Virtual Truck In The World

The first thing that hits you about this truck render – apart from the electronic music reminding us of a '90s first-person shooter game – is the sleek design of this concept.

Built on the American truck design ethos, which comprises a long hood and set-back cabin, with dual vertical exit exhausts, this truck contrasts with modern European-designed tractor units like the Scania S-series that look much less aerodynamic in comparison with this beast.

Upfront, the sleek lights have red LED daytime running lamps and the front bumper molds around the front like a supercar with an integrated front splitter, low skirting at the sides, huge wheels with low-profile tires, and even air scoops ahead of the rear two axles on the tractor unit.

For the trailer, it’s not a standard shape, the three axles at the rear all have similar wheels with thin-walled tires, but they’re smaller, and the whole thing is in red, with the tractor unit coming in a two-tone black front and red rear.

Carmstyledesign has released other shopped designs which are not just limited to trucks; with a striking lime-green Dodge Viper render which looks pretty convincing.

For the truck, we can only wonder what is under that long hood, what we really want to see is something crazy like a Hellephant engine at the very least, with 1000 hp. What the concept lacks are the side and roof lights featured on most trucks, plus we’re pretty sure that the wheel design would work with those tires for actually hauling, but even car fans can surely appreciate the design here.

With a supercar nose and that sleek design, this render proves that commercial vehicle design doesn’t have to be boring.
