The Dynamic Styling Of The Kia EV6

Modern cars tend to fall into the trap of being over-styled. The busy designs, usually found on new cars and SUVs, tend to have a polarizing effect on consumers. Some people who prefer to slide under the radar are not big fans of them. But others who enjoy the attention will find them attractive. The Kia EV6 looks to be a good balance of both. The EV6 has a front design that is striking and very attractive. However, while being sharp, it does not feature an overwhelming level of lines and creases in the design. It gives the crossover a smoother look.

With its new headlight design for a Kia and the tapered front look, the EV6 is an interesting and gorgeous looking car. The side silhouette is also quite attractive, and the big 19-inch alloy wheels that are standard under the flared wheel arches help add some muscle. But they go all the way up to a set of massive 21-inch as well. It has a cab-forward design, and the sloping roofline adds to the personality.

Move to the back, and you’re greeted with an elegant, chiseled, but still not over-styled rear design. The LED taillight spans the width of the car suggesting a wider appearance. However, from certain angles, it resembles the Aston Martin DBX. The EV6 GT Line adds a touch of sports to the crossover as well. While the rest of the cars in this range look to be more practical, the EV6 is like a contemporary styled well-fitted tailored suit. Everything about the EV6 looks just right.

The Kia EV6 Shows Off Futuristic Interior

The elegant, but striking nature of the exterior, resonates into the cabin of the EV6 as well. A large panoramic and curved screen dominates the interior as it sits on top of the dash. The overall design may be minimalist, but the tech inside is impressive. The driver head-up display uses Augmented Reality technology, something we find on a car like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Furthermore, it has a 360 camera and remote-controlled parking as well. The steering is also an interesting two-prong design and features the standard controls for various aspects of the vehicle. It even packs Kia’s Highway Drive Assist 2.

The textured effect on the dash, the fascinating touches all around, look smart. The floating center console also adds quite a lot of personality to the cabin. The rotating gear selector and the remaining physical and touch-sensitive switchgear help elevate the sense of the EV6 being a futuristic car. The most futuristic element are the sustainable materials used inside the cabin, like the seat upholstery being made from recycled plastic bottles. The space in the cabin is also very well engineered to be roomy for all occupants. Additionally, the trunk space in the EV6 is a very usable 28 cubic feet, extendable up to 54 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. While you do get more cargo space in the front, the all-wheel-drive model does eat into some of that space.

Prices for the EV6 have recently been released. The electric compact crossover will range between $42,115 to $57,115. Sure, it is a smidge dearer than its sibling, Hyundai Ionic 5, but the EV6 offers a different mature personality. Additionally, the first 1500 EV6 First Edition examples will also come with an Apple Watch, along with some additional design elements. However, the price on that is currently unannounced. Either way, it is hard to ignore the Kia EV6 if you’re looking for a new family electric crossover this year.
