Lexus, the luxury division of Japanese auto giant Toyota, is one of the most famous luxury car companies in the industry. While the market offers you plenty of American, European, and Asian choices, Lexus offers the right mix of everything on your bucket list. Lexus is known for its distinct styling, unique interiors, creamy powertrains, and most importantly, safety and reliability.

As a matter of fact, Lexus builds some safest cars in the world and is the most reliable carmaker in the market. The Lexus NX is a bestseller for the Japanese automaker, and it offers a subtle mix of functionality, luxury, and safety.

Following a complete revamp last year, the 2023 Lexus NX arrives for the new model year with a price of $39,500 and four trims, all of which boast a different powertrain. The new NX inherits the most important genes of Lexus. That said, Lexus NX features a stunning exterior with Lexus' signature design elements and striking body lines. The front fascia features the iconic Spindle Grille with a unique black grille featuring the Lexus logo. The wedge-shaped headlights store a pair of L-shaped DRLs flanking the upper and lower headlights.

The rear looks equally distinct as well. The black integrated spoiler and the black apron below deliver a premium look. The L-shaped tail lamps and a lean LED strip on the trunk lid further add a premium touch to the exterior. In addition, Lexus offers various 15-spoke alloy wheel choices for customization.

The interior design looks stunning with soft-touch surfaces, contrasting colors, and highly ergonomic controls all around. Lexus has crafted the interior with prism black or aluminum or open-pore wooden trims for a richer ambiance.

The most distinct feature of the NX’s interior is the Thematic Interior Illumination system with 14 unique themes like rainforest, waterfall, and sunset to provide buyers with emotional comfort inside the cabin. The interior offers quality and bright materials like rich cream, Palomino, and Rioja Red NuLuxe seats with quilting to deliver a cozy feeling.

One of the reasons why we adore the 2023 NX is its diverse set of powertrains. Lexus offers four engine choices, allowing buyers to choose a model based on their preferences. The NX 250 employs a 2.5-liter inline-four engine producing 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, helping this car accelerate to 60 mph in 8.3 seconds and offer 28 MPG combined. The NX 350 employs a punchier 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that offers 203 horsepower to help with accelerating to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds and returning 25 MPG combined.

The 2023 Lexus NX also provides two hybrid engines with an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. Both the 350h and 450h+ have a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine powering two motors fitted on the front and rear axles. The NX 350h's mild-hybrid unit offers 239 horses, to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds and promises a combined mileage of 39 MPG.

The flagship NX 450h+ features plug-in hybrid technologies with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, two 181-hp motors on the front and rear axles, and a high-capacity Li-on battery. This engine produces 304 hp in total and takes 6 seconds to hit the sixty line. The mileage is excellent, with a 36-mile all-electric range and a combined mileage of 84 MPGe.

The NX is built on Toyota’s GA-K platform, and as we all know, the unibody chassis offers a great driving experience. Meanwhile, Lexus has also equipped it with a capable suspension consisting of shock absorbers, dampers, and stabilizers to offer buyers Lexus’s signature driving experience. The NX has 7.7-inches of ground clearance. While this isn’t significant like seasoned SUVs ready to conquer off-road, the NX can occasionally get dirty.

In addition, the NX features ventilated front and rear disc brakes along with 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels that offer decent braking performance. An electronic power steering column is standard on all trims. The NX offers easy handling with a short turning radius of 38 feet, and with a 57/43 front-to-rear weight distribution, it offers a brisk steering response without significant body roll.
