The Audi TT was launched back in 1998, and it became an instant hit. Those sexy curves, that stylish interior, and powerful engine options were very attractive to many. It was a first for Audi, making a car that is this stylish. It's based on the Golf platform too, so it is a very reliable, well-built car.

Now in 2021, Audi wants to pull the plug on this successful little coupe. It is a huge shame since we believe that the TT is a great car. Audi has stated that an SUV crossover could replace the TT but let's be honest, none of us want that. Here are ten reasons why we will miss the Audi TT.

10 It's Just So Stylish

There aren't too many cars out there that are as stylish as an Audi TT. The Mk1 generation was very over the top with its luscious curves and designer interior. The second and third-generation cars may be more subtle, but they are still very stylish. The current model takes advantage of smaller details to show off its style.

Our favorite feature of the TT has always been this spoiler. The mk1 model had a fixed-wing but the Mk2 and Mk3 models had a pop-up wing (depending on spec) and this just looked so cool when up.

9 It's Fun

The Audi TT is a very fun car. It makes you feel youthful and free when you drive it. It's a car that trades practically for style and fun. This is a car you buy because you want it, rather than something you need. The best thing is, if you want a car that is fun but also pretty economical, then these cars are perfect for you.

You don't even need to go fast in the TT to have fun. You can simply cruise along with ease and have as much fun as you would in a supercar. The TT is all about making you feel good, and it sure does a good job at doing that.

8 The Interior Is Lovely

The interior of the Audi TT has always been ahead of its time. The current model shocked people back in 2014 since it had no center interior screen. Instead, all infotainment was done on the driver's display, and this was known as the "virtual cockpit." Eventually, this feature was added as an option to all Audi cars and fitted as standard to the R8 (which also didn't have a center screen).

The TT started this "virtual cockpit" digital gauge cluster craze. The mk2 Audi TT also had a very driver-focused and very sporty interior. The Mk1 though was very cool with its minimal design, cool chrome accents, and circular buttons.

The TT RS was launched back in 2009, and in all honesty, it is the closest we will get to a modern-day Audi Quattro. Powered by. 2.5 5-cylinder engine. The first generation RS was offered with a six-speed manual transmission and an automatic option, whilst the second-generation TT RS was only offered with a 7-speed automatic.

The TT RS has always been available with AWD too, which helps massively with grip. The current TT RS can achieve a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds, which is just crazy for a car so small.

6 It's A Great Sports Car

The TT is one of the best sports cars out there. The standard models may be front-wheel-drive, but they're still a blast. However, if you want the sportiest driving experience from a TT, then you need one with the Quattro AWD system. It isn't as sporty as say a BMW Z4, but this car can still corner well.

The sportiest model is the TT RS. It's an absolute blast to drive. However, the second in command TTS model isn't too bad either with its 2-liter turbo four-cylinder engine.

When you think of a sports car, you presume that it's hopelessly impractical and hard to live with. However, with the Audi TT, that couldn't be further from the truth. The TT is a very easy car to live with, and yes, you can even get one in diesel form. The coupe model can seat four, and the trunk size is decent. The convertible model is a lot smaller and only seats two.

The TT has quite a few rivals. From the Mustang EcoBoost to the BMW 2-Series, it manages to beat them all. It is a far more stylish car inside and out, plus the build quality is fantastic. Driving-wise, it may not be the best of its class, but overall it comes out on top. It blends comfort, economy, and performance into one mixture which makes the car great to drive.

It's also pretty good value, too. Prices start at just under $50,000, and you get a 228hp 4-cylinder turbo engine, 7-speed automatic gearbox, cool alloy wheels, etc.

The TT is an iconic car. It pushed Audi out there to new markets and showed that they can make more than just boring sedans. The TT is like a miniature R8 if you like, and it's just as iconic. The shape is easily recognizable by almost anyone, regardless whether or not they're a car person.

There is no car out there that is like the TT, and that's something we love about it. No other car out there has managed to achieve sporty coupe looks like the TT. The proportions are all perfect and despite radical changes with the third generation car, it still is very recognizable.

There are just so many mods out there for the TT, the list is almost endless. From track builds to show builds, this car really does push your imagination to the limits, so there sure is something out there for everyone. There have been people who have built 1000hp+ Audi TT RS models which are absolutely insane. At the same time, there have been people who have spent a fortune on the interior and exterior of their TT, making it look fresh.

There aren't too many cars out there that are as fun to modify as the TT. A stock TT is truly a blank canvas for us car enthusiasts, and engines range from 1.4 liters all the way to 3.2 liters.

1 It's Well Built

Like anything German, the Audi TT is well built. The build quality is impeccable. The current generation is a very satisfying car to be in, since the knobs are all finished in this really nice texturized finish. When you turn these knobs, they make a soothing clicking sound too. The buttons all have an excellent feel to them and everything feels so sturdy.

Even the original car was well built. Everything felt a lot more expensive than it actually was, and Audi really did not cut corners when it came to build quality.
