Of all the upcoming 2020 Superbowl Car TV commercials I've seen thus far, I think this is my favorite. Hyundai's 60 second spot features three Hollywood and TV stars, a Boston Red Sox legend, the new for 2020 Hyundai Sonata, and enough Boston accents to give you linguistic and auditory backlash. Let's check it out.

Hyundai Meets Boston Meets Superbowl

The Hyundai spot will air in the first quarter of the big game and has a decidedly Boston-themed encounter between Beantown's own Chris Evans of Marvel universe fame, John Krasinski of The Office and Jack Ryan, and former Saturday Night Live star Rachel Dratch. There's even a cameo appearance by "Big Papi" himself, Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz. The ad will also appear on the "Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2020" special on the CBS on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 8-9 p.m. if you're interested.

The premise of the commercial is simple enough. It opens on a non-descript Boston sidewalk with Evans and Dratch running into each other before Krasinski pulls up in his new 2020 Hyundai Sonata. Seeing a rather cramped parking space before him, which Evans and Dratch argue no car could fit in, Krasinski gets out of the car and the Sonata parks itself courtesy of "Smart Park." After the requisite "Smaht Pahk" references, and Ortiz sticking his head out of a window, the car gets out of the parking spot solo as well. Wicked good!

Dratch, Ortiz Boston Elocution Lesson

There's another cute little clip of Dratch acting as "Big Papi's" dialect coach going over some Boston fundamentals. And while I'm a diehard Yankees fan, and born and bred New Yorker, the commercial even made me laugh ... with them for a change. The game, and the commercials, look like they'll be a lot of fun. Stay tuned and buckle up.
