SEMA 2022 has been a great return for the show with an excellent turn out of muscle cars, custom-builds, restomods, and much more including a first-time nomination for a best automotive social media personality.

There were, of course, many different types of Ford Mustang builds and of them, the YouTube custom builders B Is For Build’s pony car is one of the most dramatic. It takes a classic ’60s icon and gives it a complete turn-around resulting in an exotic build that is unique and eye-catching.

This custom Mustang has gotten featured on the channel regularly throughout its build and it's now nearing completion. After the SEMA show, the channel continues some final testing as the mid-engine Ford Mustang fastback hit the streets for the first time.

The Custom-Build, Mid-Engined, Widebody 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback

It started out as a Need For Speed movie car, which was a Bugatti Veyron replica, and served as a stunt car in the film that got T-boned by a police car. After that, the crew at B Is For Build acquired the chassis and began making it into a widebody, mid-engined Ford Mustang based on a cool car render.

Finished in white, the imposing, Chevy LS-V8-powered racing car appeared at SEMA and got ready just one day before the show. The team had to carry out work on it inside the show after hours just so it could drive out under its own steam.

After the show, the team had to do more work on the car to get it ready for driving on the road and eventually, some racing.

Throughout the video, there are montages of welding and work getting done and the team improves on the great-looking project, ironing out bugs, and making it less-rough around the edges. By the end of the video, it has working headlights, a new exhaust system, a reinforced front grill, and a more sturdy steering wheel setup among other things.

Once it hits the road, it looks crazy compared to the other normal cars next to it. The engine is very loud from the back of the American pony car, and it’s also impossible for the driver to see out of the right-hand side of the car for maneuvering.

While it is still a little rough around the edges, the car is making a lot of progress. The car is essentially going to be a custom race car according to the host of the channel and that looks about right from every angle.
