The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, and the Evo range in general, is one of the best Japanese cars ever built. Like many Japanese cars, they are perfect for modifying within JDM culture, with owners often adding extra body panels and various tuning upgrades to totally transform the cars. Digital car renderings provide a great platform to do this. One of the very best is Rostislav Prokop, who knows a thing or two about producing a good render. This latest work from him features the Evo VIII with a fantastic widebody kit.

A Personal Favorite Nicely Spiced Up

Prokop mentions on his Instagram post that the Evo VIII is one of his personal favorite cars. And he has done a stunning job with this render. Starting at the front of the Evo, we see quite a big splitter. It sticks quite far out of the front of the Evo, and that should hopefully add a bit more downforce while also looking very cool. The hood looks to be in carbon, with a huge vent in the middle, and it overhangs slightly, partially covering up the Mitsubishi badge on the front of the car.

Extra Side Skirts And Bigger Wheel Fenders

Prokop keeps the changes going across the rest of the Mitsubishi. The wheel fenders are bigger and more pronounced, sitting over bigger tires, and this gives the Evo a much more hunkered looking stance. The side profile of the car remains relatively unchanged, except for the more obvious side skirts across the bottom of the car. Coupled with the front splitter, this doesn’t seem to give the Evo much ground clearance, so you would probably not want to take this car over any speed humps. Finally, we come to the rear of the Evo.

More Minimal Changes At The Rear

In a bit of a contrast with the front of the car, the changes at the rear of the Evo are less obvious. There is a diffuser underneath the car, looking like it is in red, and it complements the white of the Evo quite nicely. There is a rear wing at the back still, unchanged from the original. Like at the front, the wheel fenders are bigger and add a bit more bulk to the rear fascia of the car. Across the board, this is one of Prokop’s more subtle renderings but one that is still very impressive, and it makes for a great looking Evo VIII.
