After the Kansas City Chiefs dispatched the San Francisco 49ers in a dramatic 4th quarter finish to win Super Bowl LIV 31-20, attention immediately shifted to KC's Super Bowl Victory Parade. And they had a lot to celebrate breaking their 50 year drought and giving Coach Andy Reid his first win.

I guess, however, it's true what they say, that there's one in every crowd who seems hell bent on ruining it for everyone else. During the parade a mad driver, apparently under the influence, was involved in a car chase breaking the through the parade barriers and running roughshod through the streets of Kansas City before being subdued by local police.

It's My Party And I'll Crash If I Want To

Reports from officials with the Kansas City Police Department indicate that a car crashed through a parade barrier shortly after 8 am. The late model Ford Taurus careened down the parade route but due to the quick thinking of police on the scene the car was slowed down with the use of stop sticks.

After a few more twists and turns, and with fans lining the streets, the car was brought to a rather dramatic halt. Clay County Police placed two suspects under arrest with possible charges of impaired driving being filed. The investigation is ongoing.

There's One In Every Crowd

After the suspects were hauled off to jail, and the cars were towed away, KC got down to the business of celebrating the Chiefs' victory. Hundreds of thousands of revelers were in attendance and the downtown area was full of excitement with players, cars and floats parading down the city streets. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas noted that "[t]his is a celebration that is a long time in the making." There's no word on whether the drunken duo got to watch the parade in the klink but jailhouse informants report that they enjoyed their bologna sandwiches. Buckle up.
