Remember Wilbur Valderrama? That guy from That ‘70s Show who, as Jay Leno helpfully reminds us, was not born before 1980.

While a lot went down in the ‘70s, remember it was the ’69 Woodstock festival that kickstarted it all, even if Leno did not mention it so much as he showed it, on the YouTube channel CNBC Prime, the home of Jay Leno’s Garage. Hippie culture apart, meet General Motors' Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser from the show.

Meet Wilbur Valderrama’s Throwback Ride

The video opens with Jay Leno dissing the ‘70s, on a purely automotive viewpoint as he drives a Pontiac Sports Coupe in a strange green color, claiming it once belonged to Kermit the Frog. Because why else, would the seatbelt match the sickly green? By the time he reaches the Valderrama residence, which was once Chuck Norris’s home and has “holes everywhere.”

But what caught Leno’s eye was the car parked in Valderrama’s driveway, a relic from the ‘70s and That ‘70s show. It’s a brown 1969 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser that Valderrama smooched off the props department for a mere $500. Because this is the car they opened the That ‘70s Show with, the car all the friends pile in and drive. Valderrama has kept it as authentic as possible, with all the dings and dents still in place because he had to have something, a keepsake from the show. He’s emotional about the car but more because it’s a memory of the show, the one he cracked when he was about to turn 18. The show and car meant that for Valderrama, who moved to the US as an immigrant, the American dream was true and achievable.

But that’s not the coolest ride that Valderrama has.

According to Valderrama, the '67 Mustang was a car he loved a lot, so much so that it became his daily driver. It’s powerful and loud, just like Valderrama likes his classics.

But there’s even more. There’s a blue 1951 Mercury that makes for a stunning resto-mod and Valderrama’s dream car as a child. Something he told his dad he must have and so he did after he saw the movie Cobra, starring Sylvester Stallone.

Finally, Leno took his Kermit the Frog for a spin and Valderrama followed behind in his Mustang. And like all good men who bond over cars, they ended up with a deal. If Valderrama is ever able to play his dream role of Zorro, the role of Sergeant Garcia will now have Italian undertones. It may turn into Sergeant Angelino and Jay Leno, arm-twisted Valderrama casting him for it.
