It's a forgone conclusion that the incoming era of transport is electric. The buzz surrounding the notion to charge at large is evidenced by President Biden's trillions-dollar commitment to infrastructure reform, which includes investing a massive portion to the mainstreamed adoption of EVs. But on the subject of leaders and EVs, what would their wheels look like within a decade's time when electric vehicles finally convert the mass public? Thanks to Bristol Street Motors' renderings, we have a better idea.

Joe Biden's Cadillac Lyriq-al Ride

Let's start with the US of A while his infrastructure plan is very much in the news. The car used as a template for leader-proofing is the Cadillac Lyriq Concept, a model that is almost guaranteed to make production following not one, but two Super Bowl commercial appearances. While highly anticipated, the rendering is completed in the best way Brits view American engineering: welded steel held together by bolts that exploits our overall lack of sophistication.

The remainder of excess falls on rusted industrial pipes for working-class appeal. Looking from about five feet away with poor vision, you could make out the DeLorean time machine, the Ghostbusters Ectomobile (also Cadillac), and the Mad Max Ford Falcon. We're not sure if that was the inspiration but now it's hard to unsee such comparisons.

Boris Johnson's XJ EVolution

Did you know Boris Johnson, current Prime Minister of UK and London pop celebrity, at one point wrote for GQ magazine? Say what you will about the man's policies but anyone staffed by Condé Nast is proven to have taste. So it doesn't take quite a lot to imagine what the PM's electric ride could look like.

The photo above is rendered as a sleeker, evolutionary take on the current Jaguar XJ, which went out of production recently. That hasn't stopped Johnson from being shuttled around in one but it means the car's due for a replacement. There were plans for an electrically-powered XJ but those plans have since been scrapped. That leaves the gorgeously-humped I-Pace to take over.

New Zealand Could Lead The Charge

Another highly anticipated electric car coming soon to sell: the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Jacinda Ardern is the Prime Minister of New Zealand, a country that doesn't quite set itself apart as a nation of dominance and volatile arrogance by way of defense spending. So a car by the leader should be the car of its people.

Conversely, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is in high demand overseas and could do very well in the US when it goes on sale later this year. Its compact size houses a battery big enough for 310 miles of range, providing an appealing preface for the island nation to go largely electric.
