Ken Block and the guys over at Hoonigan have proven to the world that their insane twin turbo Ford Mustang called the Hoonicorn can do just about anything, and do it better than just about anything that challenges it. It's light, it's low, all-wheel drive, has a lightning fast sequential transmission, and—oh yeah—1,400 fricken horsepower! And yet, there will always be worthy contenders to go up against it. In their search for said worthy contenders, Hoonigan has pitted the Hoonicorn up against its closest match yet, IROZ Motorsports's big turbo 8-second Audi RS3.

The Hoonicorn Vs. The World's Fastest Audi RS3

Hank Iroz and his team have made quite a name for themselves with their RS3. It is the fastest 2.5-liter RS3 and the first to get into the 8 second quarter mile time. The RS3 is an absolute animal, with its big turbo 5 cylinder engine making roughly 1,100-HP on a crazy 55 to 60 pounds of boost. Not quite as much as this compound turbo S2000, but it was enough that they actually blew up its original intake manifold.

The Audi is very impressive and definitely the most worthy opponent the Hoonicorn has faced yet and, on paper, they are actually fairly equal. The crew at Hoonigan watching the race was pretty evenly split as they made their predictions on the outcome, but everyone agreed that this would be the closest competition yet.

In the first race, the Hoonicorn got a small lead right off the line, and down track the RS3 started to reel in the Mustang—but it just didn't have enough to pass him and Ken won by a car length. Realizing just how worthy the Audi is, Ken Block swapped out the Hoonicorn's tires for some even stickier drag radials.

In the second race, the seemingly impossible happened; Hank Iroz defeated Ken Block and the Hoonicorn, gaining an early lead and keeping it to win by a car length! After cooling both cars off a bit for round three, both sides were anxious to see which of the AWD monsters was going to take home the non-existent trophy. The Hoonicorn took an early commanding lead in the third race and kept it, making the outcome all too familiar to past races and winning by a couple of car lengths to take home the title.

Ken and Hank line up one last time, however, just to see what happens. And remarkably enough, the RS3 took a similar commanding lead as the Hoonicorn did the race before, making these two cars an incredibly equal match.
