It’s Month Of Freedom over at Cleetus HQ, and the YouTuber is finding ways to provide content every day and as a result comes up with lots of shenanigans and projects, some of which turn out to be very interesting.

This one has potential to be an intriguing study of human nature, where we will see how much money the public are willing to part with in order to experience something special. It's a ride in a performance car - a C7 Chevrolet Corvette - at extreme speeds.

Many people pay for packages to experience hot laps, but as we can see in YouTuber Cleetus McFarland’s video; it’s different when the price is low, and you are waiting at the side of the road with a Chevrolet and a sign.

It is worth watching the intro of the video, where the man himself is dedicating a segment to the sponsor of the video – SimpliSafe, by using a flamethrower.

Later, the team set up shop at the roadside with camping chairs and a hand-made ‘Corvette Rides $20’ sign that doesn’t attract any attention from passersby.

The car is a white C7 Chevrolet Corvette base model, but it got boosted to provide 1000 hp. The standard engine in the C7 ‘Vette was an LT1 V8 with 455 hp and 460 lb-ft, which can propel the American sports car to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

A base-model C7 Corvette is worth around $50,000, and the desirable Z06 models are worth even more, at an average of $79,000 at auction. Luck strikes when Cleetus modifies the sign to read ‘$5’ for a ride along with him.

Seemingly seconds after altering the price, someone stops, a man who got interested in a ride for $5 ends up in the car with Cleetus after signing a waiver. Anyone who knows Cleetus knows that he can be quick down the strip.

The car makes a brutal pass down the drag strip, with the accelerative force and aggressive gear changes leaving a smile on the occupant’s faces, although the passenger doesn’t seem overly shaken up. After this there is a person in a Lamborghini who is also happy to part with $5 for a ride.

With each trip, the C7 Corvette can make 150-mph passes down the quarter mile, and the last paying passenger Sarah – who says her husband is an avid Cleetus viewer – enjoys the ride immensely.

You could imagine more supercar owners taking advantage of making quick money with their cars in this way, but at a final price of $3, you must wonder if he is making the money back on fuel and tires alone.
